LANXESS Material Protection Products has been active in the market since 1907. Our first brand - Preventol® - was introduced in 1932. As a result of several acquisitions over the years, additional brands have broadened our portfolio. The following overview shows the history of our brand names.
Preventol® was our first brand name. It was introduced in 1932. Today, we market active ingredients and biocidal formulations for in-can preservation, disinfection and wood protection under the Preventol® brand name.
Tektamer® and Biochek® are active ingredients and biocidal formulations for the in-can preservation of products. These brands were added to our portfolio in 2001 with the acquisition of two biocidal product lines from Ondeo Nalco.
The Metasol® branded products are outstanding fungicides for construction, paper, paints and adhesives. Metasol® was part of the two product lines acquisition from Ondeo Nalco.
Sporgard® and Azotech®, our best-in-class fungicides for construction, paper, paints and adhesives, were part of the acquisition of the material protection business of the Syngenta Company in 2011.
The brand name Veriguard® was derived from the Verichem acquisition in 2011 which brought additional biocides and formulations for construction, paper and the water treatment industry to our portfolio.
